John Finucane is a senior solicitor with over 15 years experience, and is qualified to practice in NI, Republic of Ireland and England & Wales.

John has vast experience and expertise in human rights, criminal, civil, judicial review, libel, privacy and commercial litigation. Throughout his career he has been involved in numerous significant and complex legal challenges, representing individual and company clients.

John qualified with the prestigious Advanced Advocacy qualification in 2015, and has spoken at length, both in Ireland and internationally, on the areas of criminal justice and human rights.

Elected as Mayor of Belfast in May 2019, John is currently MP for North Belfast, a role he has held since December 2019.
