Case Studies:
Interim Payment Awarded
We recently secured a significant interim payment of £20,000 for a client who was injured in a road traffic accident in 2021. Jack Dowling has carriage of this case.
Liability for the accident was admitted at an early stage. Prior to proceedings being issued, the Defendant made an offer of under £10,000 to settle the claim. Our client did not accept that offer and proceedings were subsequently issued. The matter is now listed for trial in January 2027.
After the Defence refused our requests for an interim payment of £15,000, we successfully brought an application to Court and obtained an interim payment of £20,000 for our client pending the final determination of the claim.
An interim payment is an advance payment of compensation made before a case concludes. It can assist injured clients with treatment costs, rehabilitation, loss of earnings and day-to-day expenses, including significant legal fees, while litigation remains ongoing.
