£10,000 for client scalded in coffee shop
March 13, 2025

Client left with residual scarring to hand

We are happy to have settled a case for our client whose hand was scalded in a popular coffee chain in Belfast in August 2024. Jack Dowling took instructions.

Whilst our client was being passed a hot beverage by a barista in a café in August 2024 the lid came loose and the boiling contents spilt over her hand. She sustained burn injuries to her hand and thumb which has has left some residual scarring.

An initial offer of £2,000 was made which we felt undervalued our client's injuries. After a brief exchange, a settlement of £10,000 was agreed upon.

Our client was delighted with the outcome.
